Meghan Markle’s sister has hinted their dad has given up trying to win his Duchess daughter back, Daily Star Online can reveal. A seething Samantha Markle, 54, recently hit out at “fake” Meghan as a “disgrace to the family name” ahead of her birthday on August 4. The fuming sister slammed the Duchess of Sussex, 38, as “callous” and “shameful”, saying: “(I hope) Archie treats her like she treated her dad." She raged at the way her sister has shut their dad Thomas Markle out of her life ever since her and Prince Harry’s royal wedding. Meghan has reportedly given her dad the cold shoulder ever since he pulled out of her wedding after suffering a heart attack. But he was also exposed for posing for staged paparazzi photographs in the lead up to the wedding, reportedly sparking fury from Meghan. He had reportedly vowed to Meghan and Harry not to give press interviews – as he had done countless times before the wedding. Yet after the staged photos, he reportedly lied to Harry when questioned about it in a phone call and hung up on him. Since then Meghan has reportedly blocked all contact from her dad, sparking a string of outbursts in newspaper interviews from him. But after months of ranting and pleading, Thomas appears to have fallen silent and finally stopped giving interviews. And his daughter Samantha suggests he has simply given up trying. She told Daily Star Online: “My dad understands and does not take it personally now. “She is the problem not him and not anyone else in the family. “She's had several opportunities to do the right thing and purposely chose not to. “She has to look in the mirror.” Suggesting Thomas still wants to reunite with his daughter, she added: “I hope it all works out.” Samantha, who uses a wheelchair as she suffers from multiple sclerosis, had previously told Daily Star Online that she and dad Thomas still meet Archie one day. But she fumed: “I suppose the family will have to give Archie his little gifts when he is older and escaped the clutches of his controlling mother and can meet family himself. “I hope Archie becomes a flaming liberal that ventures out to meet family himself and hopefully everyone won't be passed away by that time. "Meg has no right to give him a tunnel vision existence."
